We live on a few acres about 5 miles NW of Goldthwaite, TX. We have 2 sons, Jaden - 4yrs, and Jalyn - 9mos. They are quite a handful, so we spend lots of time playing at home or at the local park. The boys love the outdoors just as Chris and I do. We have to be creative with entertaining them while we feed, check on kidding does, and try to keep a handle on chores around the house, yard, and goat barns/pastures. Jaden has spent alot of time with us in the pastures checking on boer goats, dorper sheep/lambs, and cows, so he is not really impressed with all of the animals. I guess he just thinks everyone has a pasture full of animals like his. We have to take the boys to the zoo if we want to impress them with any "neat/different" animals.
Chris is an elementary teacher/rancher/dad and I am a pharmacist/rancher/mom. It seems like we only meet in passing right now as we are in the middle of kidding out boer goats. Hopefully, you will see some buck/doe/wether kids on our boer goats for sale pages soon! We will try to keep them updated as often as we can so that there is always something new there.
My dad is a rancher/banker, so I grew up with sheep, angora kids, and lots of cows, so I am not as impressed with all of the happenings on the ranch as my husband, Chris. He grew up in a larger community nearby and only had a big yard to "play in", so he is pretty attached to all of the livestock. He can almost always come up with an excuse to be out in the pastures. Sometimes I have to "threaten to sell our goats" to get him back to help with the house/yard.

Overall, we really enjoy taking care of our boer goats, especially at kidding time. Our biggest challenge is keeping the goats inside of the fences! If your fence won't hold water, it probably isn't going to keep the goats in either. I once heard someone say caring for goats is "like running a nursing home." Well, maybe not quite that bad, but they do definitely have a point!
I hope you enjoy looking around our site. Please call, email or fill out our contact form with any questions. By the way, Chris loves to talk about boer goats, so give him a call if you want!
